Study Engineering in Singapore

Singapore has many world-renowned schools of engineering. According to the 2008 Times Higher Education Supplement, the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore had secured No.10 and 26 ranks amongst the world’s top technology universities.

Many local school of engineering in Singapore have formed strategic alliance with leading foreign universities to offer global standard education, and research in science and technology. Private institutes in Singapore offer very high quality education from certificate level to post graduate level. Polytechnics in Singapore continue to offer diploma level courses in different branches of engineering.

To meet growing demands in new areas like aeronautical engineering, they started many new diploma programs in various disciplines that are in demand. Both private and national engineering colleges in Singapore offers many scholarships to support bright and aspiring students in every year.

(A)Public Universities

1. National University of Singapore:
National University of Singapore is one of the most prestigious universities in Singapore. In fact, this university is ranked amongst the top 25 universities in the world. This university offers a diverse range of courses and attract students from more than 70 countries every year.

2. Nanyang Technological University:
Nanyang Technological University is actually a research-intensive university. This university has students from all over the world in the areas of science and engineering.


(B) International Universities


1. Technische Universitat Munchen
This university was the result of the German-Asian university partnership. This university is a part of the German Institute of Science and Technology or widely known as GIST. GIST is pioneer in the management of postgraduate education, executive training, and contract research.

2. Georgia Institute of Technology:
Georgia Institute of Technology has established The Logistic Institute- Asia Pacific or TLI-Asia Pacific. This institute is jointly formed by Georgia Institute of Technology and National University of Singapore (NUS). TLI is one of the premier research and education institute that offers varieties of Logistics and Supply chain management programmes.


3. Massachusetts Institute of Technology:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology has collaborated with NTU and NUS in Singapore to form the Singapore-MIT alliance or SMA.  SMA is founded in 1998 and this institute is a pioneer in its graduate level education in Science and Engineering.
